David brought this happy bouquet of sunflowers to Maddie on her birthday.
Maddie girl turned 8! June 9th. She decided this year to have her party at our neighborhood pool, and it turned out to be a blast! In true
Maddie fashion, she prepared with her best buds to do the exact pose from the High School Musical DVD cover shoot as they jumped off the diving board. She got pretty darn close here:) If you haven’t had the privilege of raising a little girl or haven’t been touched by the HS Musical phenomena, google the cover photo and you will understand.
The girls were lining up for their turn for David to throw them into the deep! Pure delight!
Dolls.
Patiently waiting for the candles to stay lit.
I have never met a child more enthusiastic about life…and her birthday.
Maddie’s original design for the cake. Pink and brown. From Mickey’s Special Affairs. It’s the closest cake I’ve found to a “Lou cake” from home. I could just sit and eat the icing by the spoonful. No, really, I could.
Maddie opened her gifts at home at mach speed with a couple of the neighbors, Lainey, John David, and Dutch REEEEALLLY close by.
We let Maddie have the neighbors over for the night after the party.
I love this picture b/c it really captures the daily fun these girls have together. David and I crashed into bed that night and were once again, amazed and so grateful for how God provided just the right friends and neighbors for Maddie. Something we prayed for for months before we moved to Arkansas…
