Decorate a Camp Trunk

Do you have a little girl leaving for camp soon? Personalizing her trunk before she leaves is a fun way to get her prepared for camp and to tuck a little bit of “home” inside her belongings.  Be sure to check out my Summer Camp Gift Ideas for lots of fun ideas for care packages, too!

Vinyl transfers are an easy way to add flair to a camp trunk, and the possibilities are endless!  My friend, Melony, over at Cleverly Creative Girl, cut hot pink letters for Maddie’s 2012 camp trunk.  We love how it turned out!
Visit Melony’s blog, Cleverly Creative Girl, and click on “My Shop” for vinyl color and font options!  Melony has many more adorable items for sale, as well!
Maddie and I also printed out some updated photos of special people in her life to add to the top of the trunk.
I found a pack of multi-colored card stock today at Target in the stationery aisle, and the sheets are the perfect size to “frame” our 4×6 photos.
We simply taped the photos to the card stock and taped the card stock to the roof of the trunk for easy removal for next year’s photos.
Leave a spot for a favorite Bible verse, song you sing to her, or special things you always say to her!

There are so many ways to decorate a trunk for camp!  Share your ideas in the comments!

  1. That’s precious, and such a great idea, Amanda!
I had lived out of a trunk for 4 summers when I worked for Crosspoint, and I would have loved to have a cute trunk like that! 🙂
    Hope you are doing well.

  2. Amanda! That is such a precious idea. I went to camp every summer growing up, and this would have been such a wonderful way to have pictures of special people nearby. Thanks for sharing & happy summer!

  3. What a clever idea – I am sure the kiddos would greatly appreicate this! Love the personalization…
